S talk short, sometimes thickened and fleshy, inserted
in a contracted cavity, with a projection of
the fruit on one side. One or more sharp ridges or
lines are almost always distinguishable from the
eye to the stalk. S k in pale straw-colour, streaked
and washed with red, smooth and polished. F lesh
yellow, crisp, tender, juicy, sugary, and high-
flavoured.
