contrary*; but by tacking we reached Elfinoor in an
hour and an h a lf : the direCt diftanee between the neareft
points o f the two coafts is about three miles. Midway we
had a fine view of the two ihores, with the towns o f Helfing^
borg and Elfinoor ; the former crowned by an antient tower;
