Britifh have little or no concern) be included, it will confi-
derably diminifh the balance o f thefe commercial profits as

According to this flatement, half the trade o f St. Peterf-
burgh is in the hands o f the Engliih; but as their
exports and imports in 1 7 7 7 exceeded thofe o f the preceding
or fubfequent years,' this eflimatc may be confidered as
too highly rated : we may fairly however allow, upon the
moR moderate computation, that a third o f this commerce
is carried on by our fadtory.
