T h is is another exanqile of a solitary Fern, having been
sejiarated from the genus Asplénium. In its characters it
seems intermediate between Asplcnimn and Scolopendrium. Link
formed a genus for this species which he called Camptosurus,
whilst Smith, who also formed a separate genus for it, called it
Antigramma. Although it certainly seems very distinct from
Asplénium, I feel disposed to adopt the plan of Linnæus and
Kunze, and retain it as an Asplénium, at the same time giving
it a section to itself. No other Fern has as yet been discovered,
which could bo classed in the section Antigramma.
In habit it is procumbent, forming young plants at the apex
of the frond. I f planted in a wide shallow pan, it will form
