Fronds glandiiloso-pubescent; pinnate, the pinnæ being oblong,
petiolate, and pinnatifid; segments obtusely crenate. Terminal.
Stipes and rachis ebeneous.
llhizoma tufted.
Length of frond from four to six inches; colour pale green.
Asplenium Petrarcliæ variety is also pinnate, having an
ebeneous stem, and the pinnæ of a rounded wedge shape. The
sori situated near the midrib. Length from three to four inches;
colour brilliant green.

Henderson, of Wentworth, as also for others of the variety.
A rare Fern, and probably not to he procured from a
Nurseryman.
