T h e present Spleenwort is in tlie same group with Asplc-
nium præmorsum and A . canariense ; it is singular iu form,
and worthy of general cultivation.
A rare species.
Native of Mexico, N ew Holland, Caraccas, and Hisiianiola.
An evergreen stove Fern.
Introduced into England in the year 1820.
The form of the frond rather ovate, glabrous, pinnate, the
pinnæ being large, and of an ohlong-dimidiatc shape, coriaceous,
acute, wedge-shaped at the base, and being inciso-serrate along
the margin; segments acute.
