T h i s strikingly-beautiful and noble F e rn is remarkable for
its large size, prominent fructification, and for the vivid green
colour of its fronds. I t is b u t seldom met with in collections,
and is not included in any of the catalogues of the English
Nui’serymen. I t does not appiear to be difficult to cultivate,
and will well repay the labour bestoAved ujion it, as a Avell-
groAvn sjiecimen becomes a prominent object in a collection of
Ferns.
It was first received at the Royal Gardens of K cav, in the
year 1844, from Messrs. Loddiges.
