separates this layer still further, and rapidly picks out
the little pink stones, the palpable rubies, which lie
gleaming in the mass. With another swift movement,
he sends thesurviving gravel flying into a truck by
his side. When this is full it is taken away and its
contents are subjected to a slower and more patient
