 Caudex longe  repens,  gracilis,  subtorluosus,  ramosas,  glaber,  radiculosus,  arboribus adnascens.

 Frondes  simplices,  fere  exacte  reniformes,  duas  tres  ad  quatuor  uncias  longæ,  quatuor  ad  quinqué  uncias latæ,  
 integerrimoe,  coriaceo-membranaceæ,  diaphanoe,  nervis pluries dichotomis, e basi divei'gentibus,  seu  flabellatiin  
 dispositis. 
 Soi'i  ad marginem  frondis,  arete dispositi,  ad  apicem  sínguli nervi. 
 Involuciwii  turbinatum  fronde  immersum, margine integerrimum. 
 Reccptamhm  cylindraceuni,  in  speciminibus  exsiccatis  sublonge  cxsertum,  et capsulis tindiquc  tectum. 
 Capsula: globosæ, pulcberrime  reticulatæ,  annulo  lato  completo  cinctæ. 
 Semina globosa vel triangularía,  singulo  e  tribus  coi-pusculis  composito.
