Native of the E ast Indies, "West In d ian Islands, Jamaica,
and Tropical America.
In tro d u c ed into the llo}-al Gardens, Ivcw, in 1848.
The fronds, which are lanceolate-acuminate, are simple,
entire on the margin, and attenuated at the base.
Veins forked; venules parallel, direct, free, and having their
apices slightly thickened and gently curved.
Stipes and rachis ebeiicous; the rachis covered beneath with
brownish cordate scales.
Khizoma scaly and creei>ing.
