T h e Common Mooiiwort is a deciduous indigenous species,
widely diffused thro u g h E ngland, Scotland, Ire lan d , and Wales,
b u t very local. I have seen it more abundant in Westmoreland
than in any other county, although it is tolerably abundant at
Clifton, in Nottinghamshire.
Found in Orkney, Shetland, L apland, Iceland, N o rth Cape,
Sicily, Spain, Russia, Siberia, Newfoundland, Greenland, Bear
I.ake, Rocky Mountains, B eh rin g ’s Bay, U ra l Mountains, Altai
