Lower pinnæ sub-opposite, u p p e r ones alternate. H ab it
somewhat erect.
Sori small, reniform; indusium diminutive, being soon hidden
b y the sori.
Venules anastomosing, and forming lines between the prima ry
veins, and dividing the entire surface into rectilinear parallelograms.
Fronds lateral, and adherent to a creeping rhizoma.
Stipes smooth, except when young, then there are a few
scattered scales on the u p p e r side. Eachis clothed with very
b rie f stiff hairs.
L ength of frond from twenty-four to thirty-six inches, of
which the lower h a lf is nak ed ; colour b rig h t green.
Known best in gardens as Nephrodmm multilincahim, b u t
n o t "Wallich’s plant.
