in  the front of  her  hat,  the  sides of  which  were  respectively  
 adorned  with  about half of a  West-African  Glossy  
 Starling  and  the  wing of a  Kingfisher.  Let  us  hope  
 that  this fair  one  may  have  been  brought  to a  sense of  
 decency,  as  have  many  others of  her  sex,  through  the  
 praiseworthy  exertions of  the  Ladies'  Society for  the  
 Protection of  Birds.  
 I  have  met  with  this  Tern  at  various  seasons  on all  
 parts of  the  Mediterranean  shores, and  found  it  breeding  
 on  the  great  lagoons of  Sardinia.
