GENERIC CHARACTER.
Calix 5-parted, segments equal. Petals S. Stamina numerous, scarcely united at the
base. Capsule roundish; cells equal with the number of the styles j 1, 2,3, and 5.
SPECIFIC CHARACTER.
Stem erect, ancipital immediately below each pair of leaves, roundish towards the
root. Leaves opposite, closely sessile, lanceolate-obtuse, finely punctuated
with pellucid dots; leaves of the branches numerous, crowded, sub-linear,
obtuse. Cymes crowded with small acute leaves; flowers terminal and axillary,
monogynous, petals obtuse, entire. Capsules sub-conoid—B. Comp,
