SPECIFIC CHARACTER.
T. leaves rhomboid-lanceolate, the flower-bearing branchlets bi-furcate, stamens very

P l a n t from eight to ten inches high, ail over densely pubescent.
Root annual, fibrous. Stem erect, cylindrical, branched above. Leaves
numerous, opposite, oval-lanceolate, obtuse, attenuated at base, paler
underneath than above, costa and veins conspicuous beneath. One or
two pairs of small leaves arise from the axils of the larger ones, and
those situated on the ends of the branches and near the flowers, likewise
quite small. Flowers terminal, campanula-purple. Stamens also
