" Tlie Genus Eusemia was proposed by Dalman, in his Monograph on Castnia, for Bombyx
lee nx Cramer, Donov. Ins. China, pi. 43, fig. 2.) He considered it as very nearly aUied to Agarista
and such IS certainly the case since they agree in the sti-ucture of the antennee, palpi, spiral tongue^
jems, bricUe, and general coloming of the wing. The principal difference is in the structiu-e of thé
fore legs, which are sufSciently unhke to warrant their separation. The fore thighs (as they appear
in E. maeulatrix) have not the strong brush of haii-s which is so conspicuous in Agarista, and in fact
are glabrous. The tarsi ai'e very long, and become gradually more slender to the tips, each being
furmshed with one very long and slender unguis, the other being short and bifid. The fom- terminal
joints of the tarsi are almost denuded, except that there exists a row of very delicate short seta; and
another of slender short incmwed spiniùoe." J. 0. W. in NaturaHsts' Libr. Exot. Moths, p 87
