I gather from Nuttall that this bird very much
resembles its near relation, our Green Sandpiper (T'Acinus
ochrojous), in habits, as it certainly does in appearance,
but with the important difference that in the
latter species the rump and upper tail-coverts are pure
white, whilst in the American bird the feathers of these
parts are of a greenish brown, with scanty white spots.
It seems that little or nothing authentic has been discovered
as to the nidification of the present species.
