I have in my care at present tjjie type of R . uropygialis. It is the
property of Mr. Edward Wilson, and will eventually, I believe, go
to the Museum of the Academy of Natural Sciences at Philadelphia.
I have never seen a second, specimen.

I have seen several specimens, clearly showing by their intermediate
plumage that Lafresnaye’s R . aterrimus is nothing more than the
present bird in its immature state.

This orange-rumpeti bird is scarcer than the other two species,
R. fiammigerus and icterqnetus, whi’t&jt So closely resembles ; and I
have some, doubts as to its real distinctness from .the former.
