Cranium from Hay Top Barrow,—Quarter-size.
ONE of the most productive barrows opened by the late Mr. Bateman is situated on the summit
of a hill called Hay Top, in Monsal Dale. He described it as " flat-topped, twenty yards in
diameter, and fom' feet high "—a height partly produced by the rock itself, as there was not
