The fact that we discover such striiing resemblances between two skulls which there is no
reason to doubt belonged to different eastern tribes of our island, separated by a large intervening
district of country, 150 miles in extent, is one of much moment in an ethnographic point of
view. It should arrest the attention, whatever deduction may ultimately be derivable from it.
It appears to speak to a uniformity, which historical documents have not always been considered
