Very fcarce. This is a native o f Tranquebar, where it was difcovered by Dr. Koenig. Fabricius defcribes
this infed from a fpecimen in the cabinet o f Sir Jofeph Banks, Bart.—A variety of die fame fpecies is found
in New Holland.

Chrylis oculata is diftinguiihed for the peculiar brilliancy o f its colours. This, as well as the foregoing
fpecies, was found by Dr. Koenig at Tranquebar. Fabricius defcribes this infed: from a fpecimen in the
colledion o f Sir Jofeph Banks, B a rt; from whence our figure is alfo taken. We have fince received the
fame kind from Bengal through the medium o f Mr. Fichtel o f Vienna.
