the older writers, and even, among modern ones, by as good an authority as the late Mr. IBlyth,
to be an inhabitant of the Moluccas. It bas, however, comparatively lately, been ascertained to
be a native of Luzon in the Philippine archipelago; and from that fact it is assumed that it is
not found on any of the Moluccas. So far as known at present, the species seems to be restricted
to the island named above.
