T H I S pretty plant is a native of New Holland, and was firfl received in feeds from thence under the
name of Indigofera coccinea, in the year 1800, by Meffrs. Lee and Kennedy, Hammerfmith. It grows
into a bufhy plant, making a number of branches from the root, but is rather a woody than herbaceous
plant'; yet the branches have all the charafler of moft of the fpecies of this genus. It has not
as yet been increafed by cuttings, but from every appearance the feeds will ripen in this country; and
there is little doubt but the roots may be divided with fafety. It flourillies in a mixture of fandy peat
and loam. Our figure was taken from a plant in the Colledion of Meffrs. Colvilles, King's Road,
Chelfea; where it has likewife flowered this prefent Auguft, 1803.
