SPECIFIC CHARACTER.
Protea follis lanceolatis glaberrirais, utrinque
acuminatis, raarginibus fubcallofis, parum
undulatisj fquamae calycins lanceolate
ereaae, interiores pills longiffimis nigris
criftitatae.
Protea with lance-ihaped leaves, fmooth, tapered
to both ends, rather thickened at the
edges, and a Uttle waved; the fcales of the
empalement are lanceHiaped and upright,
the inner ones crefted, with very long black
hairs.
