T h is interesting Fern is not very dissimilar to an elongated
form of Aspidium filix-mas, and may prove hardy in warm
situations.
A greenhouse species.
Native of the Island of Madeira, Canary Island, Azores,
and Teneriffe.
Introduced into England in the year 1799.
Fronds glabrous, triangularly elongate in form, sub-tripinnate ;
the pinnæ triangularly elongate. Pinnules oblong-acute, with
slightly dentate blunt segments. Stipes paleaceous. Terminal,
adherent to a thick, short, creeping rhizoma.
Sori medial.
