A F IN E Fern, pretty generally cultivated in our English,
collections, yet often confused with Aspidium trifoliatum, Swartz,
figured on Plate X X IX of this volume.
An evergreen stove Fern.
Native of the West Indies, Tropical America, and Brazil.
Fronds glabrous, oblong-ovate in form; pinnate, tbe pinnæ being
of an oblong-lanceolate-acuminate shape, somewhat membranous,
petiolulate; base cordate; the lower pair two-lobed, ivhilst the
terminal pinna is either three-lobed or sinuately pinnatifid, the
basal segments being the longest.
