In height, i t is m u ch influenced b y situation, v a ry in g from two to five
inches. Pileus 1-2 inches or more in b re ad th , hemispherical in th e
y o u n g state, th e n obtusely conical, finally plano-convex, and most freq
u e n tly umbonate, smooth, th e m a rg in often more or less waved, and
