and bas found a place in the valuable Bryologia Germanica, in
progress of publication by my highly esteemed friends Dr N e e s
VON E s e n b e c k aud Dr H o r n s c h u c h . But these, in addition
to that of Great Britain, are tbe only general stations
known of this very rare species. It is distinguished from P.
serratum by the presence of a nerve ; from P. stenophyllum by
tbe thickness of the nerve, and the absence of regular serra-
tures; from P. colmrenshj the longer and narrower leaves, their
compressed and much broader nerve, and toothed margin.
