Nattaung Hills in l l a r t a b a n at 5,000 to 7,500 feet elevation, northwards into the Na"a
Hills of Assam. ®
This is the chief Burmese species and was collected by Kurz in 1872 in the
Nattaung Hills, in flower. He also identified with it the specimens collected by
Dr. J . Anderson at I'oneshoe on the Ymian Expedition in 1808, and those agree with the
collections of G. Qallatly made for the Calcutta Botanic Garden in Tenasserim in 1877
(No. 746, Taipe, 5,000 feet) ; but both these have tl,e leaflets in pairs, supported
b y loose sheaths and the culms markedly flat on one side, which woidd seem to brinot
