valley, greatly contribute to enrich the profpea.
The view is tci-minated towards the north by the elevated and hoary fummits of the
Alps, which lofe themfelves, as it were, in the clouds, whilll the a™re forface of the fea
dofes the horizon on the fouUi. Its limpid waters are confpicuous through the craggy
openings of the ifolated rock of Nice, and Mont Aiban, peeping between forefls or plantations
of olives and firs.
