This appears to be rather a local species, as it has
the Calcutta Garden Collector, and it does not occur
parts of the province. This may possibly be the sar
description of which it partly agrees. Miquel does

In India this is a tree 20 or 30 ft, high, with spreading umbrageous head. In the Malayan countries
it attains a height of 40 to 50 ft. Specimens from Sikkim, and from Kohima in theNaga Hills (C. B.
('larke), have more coriaceous leaves, with bold uci-vation and unusually large, rather rough, iemale
receptacles.
