In 1878 tbe Cnistaeea of Mozambique were dealt witb bj’ Dr. E.
Hilgendorf, in the very useful memoir entitled “ Die von Hrn. W.
Peters in Moçamhique gesammelten Crnstacecn” || ; a fcAV species
from tbe same locality bad been previously enumerated by Prof. J.
Biauconiin 1869
In 1879. in the “ Eeport of tbe Naturalists of the British Transit-
of-Ycnus Expedition,” were enumerated the Crustaceans collected
at tbe island of Eodriguez, all, except Talitrus gulUveri, Podo-
pbtbalmia. and nearly all common and widely distributed species**.
In 1880 was published tbe excellent account, by Dr. E. Eichters,
of the Decapoda in Prof. Mobius’s work on the marine fauna of the
Mauritius aud Seycbellestt, to which frequent reference is made in
tbe following pages. Since tbe appearance of tbis work, I have
given i i an account of some new or remarkable species collected at
tbe Mauritius by M. T. de Eobillai'd.
In 1881 Drs. H. Lenz and F. Eichters, in a memoir entitled
“ Beitrag zur Krustaceen-Eauna von Madagascar ” §§, enumerated a
