In the specimens from tho two latter localities tbe pale spots upon '
tbe back witb dark centres are symmetrically placed upon each side
of the central line, which is pale and dark spotted at intervals.
II. CONCHIFERA.
1. Cytberea (Caryatis) obliquata, Hanleij.
Sej’cbelles.
A single right valve from this locality is of a rich brown colour,
whitish towards tbe umbones and ventral margin, radiately streaked
witb white across tbe brown portion of tbe surface, having tbe
lunule and posterior dorsal surface lineated witb dark brown. The
inner surface is white, faintly tinted witb pale rose towards tho
binder extremity.

Seychelles.
This specimen belongs to the variety named C. menkei, Jonas.
