Pipit Richard, French; Stelzenpieper, Spompieper, German.
An uncommon autumnal visitor to this country, in
which most, though by no means all, of its recorded
captures have occurred near the sea.
According to various authors, Richard’s Pipit has a
wide range over Asia and Europe, and breeds almost
throughout the central districts of the first-named continent.
