rilla, Spanish.
This well-known and charming bird I can only consider
as a local race of Motacilla alba; its range appears
to be virtually limited to our islands and the extreme
west of the continent of Europe.
In common with most, if not all, of our purely insectivorous
birds, it is a local migrant; but, as far as I
am aware, has not hitherto been met with south of the
Mediterranean.
