Biver, in October. Air. Biittikofer found a nest on tlio 2nd of April, ou an old
window-seat of the Dutch factory at Alonrovia: it was con.stvucted in tiic same wav as
tlie nests of Jlirundo rustica, and contained three half-fledged nestlings.
On the Biver Gambia, Dr. Bendall says it is “ common and fearless of man; its
low sweet song is sustained for a minute or more, and bears a resemblance to that of a
Canary, but is always subdued in tone. Its builds a eup-shaped nest of mud, lined witli
lino grass and feathers, and lays from three to five eggs.”

T h e present species was not met with by the Alarquis Antinori iu Shoa, hut Dr.
Bagazzi procured a young bird at Gasciii AIulu 011 July 31st.
Dr. lischer’s localities for the species, as observed by him in East Africa, areas
follows Alombasa, Maliiuli, Paiigani, Alaurui, Little Aruscha, Komboko, and
Alossiro.

Mr. Hartert found it common at Loko on tlie Benue River, in July. It was
