T h i s species was discovered by the well-known African traveller Air. II. II. Johnston
in the Camcroons Alountains, at a height of 9000 feet. Captain Shelley mentions a
female liird as having been procured by Air. Johnston; but iu our opinion both specimens
arc males, the rough edge of the wiug being a little less pronounced in one than
in the other.
