collected Natural History specimens for Mr. Jolmston, at an elevation of (1000 loot, on
the Milanji Plateau, on the 29th of Ootoher, 1891.
The British Museum has received iu exchange from tho Berlin Museum one of the
typical specimens of II. emini from Bussisi, aud we at once saw that II. astigma is
identical with it. Its nearest ally is certainly H. melamerissa rather than II. semirufa,
and it differs from the former species in its darker cmnamon-ooloured under surface,
while it is further distinguished hy its more dusky ear-coverts and hy the rufous
collar on the hind neck not heing complete, as appears to be sometimes tho case in
JH. melanocrissa.
The description is taken from the Bussisi specimen, now in tho British Museum,
and the figure in the Plate is di-awn from the typical specimen of II. astigma, also in the
same Museum.
