recent work, wherein the characters of the various genera have been very carefully
elucidated. Only in a few instances have I ventured to vary his arrangement, and
then merely in certain minor details, while the facts of geographical distribution
published by him have been of the greatest assistance to me.
I t should be noted that Ehodinooichla, which I refer to the Mimidæ (Hand-1. B.
vol. iv. p. 109), is considered by Prof. Ridgway to belong to the Ccerébidæ (cf. B. of
North and Middle America, ii. p. 769).
