THE upper fide of the belly and back were of a dark chefnut-colour : tail almoft black :
legs a dark brown. A black ihining fpot was obferved on the inner-fide of the knobs, on

THE general complexion of this fpecies was an orange-colour, with a light ftreak on the
top of the back : and a dark brown ihade on the top of the belly : eyes eight.—^Found in

T H I S fpecies was entirely of a brown colour, with a ftreak of light on the back: feelers
remarkably ihort.—It is one of thofe Spiders who feize their prey by leaping on it.

T H I S fpecimen was of a light brown colour, with a dark line on the back: legs fpotted.—
Found the middle of June, near Woolwich; and when taken, a ball of eggs, a little compreifed,
and of a bluifli colour, was attached under its belly.

THE whole furface of this fpecimen appeared of a fliining greyiih black : on the upper
fide of the belly were two rows of indented fpots, in regular order : the tail forked : legs and
feelers a dark red : eyes undifcernible.—Caught on the ground, near Charlton, in Kent, the
middle of June.

and brown: the white part having a beautiful filvery appearance: the two fore legs the longeft:
the next pair a little ihorter : the third the ihorteft of all: the body altogether was of a finguiar
ihape : eyes eight.—Taken in a hedge, near Peckham, May 23.

T o the naked eye this fpecimen was greyiih, fpeckled, and hairy ; but, by the help of a
magnifier, it was difcovered to be truly curious and beautiful ; ornamented as it was in every
pait, by a mixture of a profufion of colours : eyes eight : it is a leaper, and remarkably aiStive.—
Taken in a garden, at Hackney.

T H I S Spider was of a greyiih black: feelers knobbed: eyes fix.—Are numerous in low wet
grounds, about the middle of April.

WAS entirely of a chefnut-colour, with a light ftreak on the back : and the belly curioufly
dotted : every part had a velvety appearance : eyes eight.—Taken the beginning of June in
Caen-wood : being put into a box, on the morrow, it was obferved to have laid eggs, and
enveloped them with a thick white fubftance, and attached the whole to her belly.
