iifli».-Near the river at Bhamo; epiphytic on a sterile species of Spirog^/ra
.(No. 21503).
The plants obserted were of interest on account of the presenco o£ tbe eexual organs. The
latter were Brst described by Huber. and have very rarely been seen. The oogonm %vere 611ed
with oily material giving them a very refractive appearance, and when ready for espellmg the
oospbeve were almost globulai' in sbape. The antberidia were not invariably terminal at tbe extrenaities
of tbe brancbe., but were occasionally developed torn tbe side of a median cell of the
filament. Since • examining tbe antheridia, we are inclined to regard them as consisting of-from
•one to throe cells, from each of which one or two i-ciliated antberozoids are ultimately set free.
