Plate X X I. — Phegopteris Dryopteris. The specimen represented was
collected near Brattlcborough, Vermont, by my venerable and excellent
friend, Mr. Charles C. Frost, in 1858. It departs a little from the common
type in having the lowest pinna; of the side divisions not exactly opposite,
but the superior one a little lower down on the partial rachis tlian the
inferior one.
