H ab. On damp decaying wood ; frequent in autumn.
Plants very minute, about the size o f tobacco-seed, scattered, white, hemispherical,
glabrous, composed o f a grumose roundish receptacle, upon
which the globose unequal sporidia are loosely disposed.
A very minute plant, first observed in Scotland by my
friend Captain C a r m i c h a e l . P e r s o o n does not seem to
have observed the sporidia, which are globose, and, in the specimens
which I have examined, unequal in size.
