Pileus with the hymenium inferior. Lamellte in the form of dichotomous
(sometimes obsolete) folds. Pileus fleshy or membranaceous.

Summer and autumn ; frequent.
Entire plant o f a full buffish-yellow, or yolk of egg colour, of a rather firm
yet b rittle substance. Pileus 1-4 inches in breadth, glabrous, irregular,
subrepand, frequently variously lobed, the margin rounded, the centre
mostly depressed, sometimes much hollowed. Flesh yellowish-white,
or pale yellowish. Lamella in the form o f tumid veins or folds, branching
dichotomously, and sometimes anastomosing. Stipes firm, solid, 1-2
