the wood), and in caverns. Abundantly throughout the year.
Polymorphous; when young either forming an irregular network of fine
woolly fibres, or rigid and springing in a diverging manner from distinct
points. The plant ultimately forms masses, varying in figure according
to situation, composed of dense, reddish, orange, or yellowish jointed
filaments, so arranged as to constitute straight, rigid bundles of difie-
