I. Government of St. Peteriburgh.
This government comprifes that tradì of country called Inger-
manland, or Ingria, wrefted by Peter the Great from the Swedes,
and confirmed to Ruffia at the peace of Nyftadt, in 1721.
It is divided into 10 diftridts.

This government was formerly fubjedt to Sweden, and comprized
in Carelia; part was . ceded to Ruffia at the peace of
Nyftadt, in 1721, and part by the treaty of Abo, 174.1.-

Revel was confirmed to the Swedes at the peace of Oliva,,
conquered by Peter the Great in 1710, and finally ceded to-
Ruffia in 1721.
