SINCE I am happily returned from
a very pleafant fummer’s excuriion
through the weftern iflands o f Scotland,
to Iceland and the Orkneys, it is with
peculiar pleafure that I take this opportunity
of aflurlng you o f my efteem
and friendftiip. It is probably not unknown
to you, that Mr. Banks and
Dr. Solander have been difagreeably
difappoiiited when they were on the
