Plantæ carnosoe, plus minusve cylindraceæ, simplices vel ramosce. Hymenium
loeve, omnem fere superfciem occupans, cum stipite conjluens. Sporulce aU
bidce vel ochracece.
Carnose plants, more or less cylindrical, simple or branched. Hymenium
smooth, occupying almost the whole surface, and confluent with the stipes.
Sporules white or ochraceous.

Autumn.
Plant gregarious, 2 -4 inches h ig h , erect, compact, o f a d u ll ochrey-yellow
colour, which, on in ju ry , changes to a g reenish hue. Stipes solid, very
short, h a lf an inch th ic k or more, c lothed a t th e base w ith a w h itish
down. Branches few a n d th ick ish a t first, b u t soon d iv id in g and becoming
very numerous, erect, round, th e axils obtuse ; ramuli atten u ated ,
min u te ly and a cutely fo rk ed a t th e ir apex. Flesh white. Sporules
ochraceous, globose, in short, clavate, tu b u la r cells, from which th e y
escape, a n d ren d e r th e surface o f the branches p u lv e ru len t.
