D icranum Schreberianum; caule erecto, simplici; foliis undique divergentibus,
longe subulatis, basi ovato-dilaiatis undulatis amplcxicaulibus ; theca ovata
cerniia, struma instructa, operculo longe et oblique rostrato.
D. stem erect, simple ; leaves spreading on all sides, elongato-subulate, dilated
into an ovate form at the base, waved and amplexicaul : theca ovate,
cernuous, furnished with a struma ; lid long and obliquely rostrate.

Plant growing in a crowded manner. Stem simple, very erect, 2-6 lines
high. Leaves rather distant, bright green, patent, embracing the stem
with their sheathing bases, ovate, with a waved margin, and rather suddenly
attenuated into a very narrow long flexuose entire extremity; nerve
passing into the narrow portion, and there gradually disappe^ing about
half way up. Theca smooth, ovate, cernuous, fine red, provided with a
struma. Lid conico-subulate, the beak long and oblique. Peristome of
16 slender red teeth, cleft about half-way down.
