Suffruticosa. Partibus herbaceis incano-toraentella v. sublanugiuosa simulque glanduloso-puberuJa.
Foliis planis v. undulatis, sessilibus, varie dentatis aut crenatis, basi obtuse v. acute auriculatis subam-
plexatilibus : inferioribus oblongo-v. obovato-spathulatis ; superioribus subconformibus v. liguliformi-
linearibus; summis subintegerrimis; omnibus plerumque obtusis. Pedunculis terminalibus, solitariis,
monocephalis, ebracteatis, gracilibus, elongatis, demum apice subclavatis. Calathidiis hemisphæricis,
breve radiatis. Anthodii squamis extimis obovatis v, spathulatis obtusis foliaceis, squamas internas
lanceolato-lineares subulato-acuminatas subscariosas æquantibus v. subsuperantibus. Receptaculo
alveoloso, fimbrillifero. Pappo-interno albido, subquindecimselo. Achæniis subteretibus, columnari-
bus, puberulis, io-striatulis; areola-basilari laterali, obliqua.

ruin circiter a pollices longa. P edunculi terminales, solitarii, monocephali, stricti, erecti, teretes, striati, ebracteati, graciles,
plus minusve elongati (demum 1 1/2-4 polliceslongi), sub anthodio fistulosi et demum subclavati. Calathidia solitaria, erecta,
innumeriflora, majuscula (diametro majoruin subsemipollicari),. depresso-hemisphærica, ebracteata, breve radiata. A ntho-
dium a i/a-3 lineas altum, disco paululo brevius, late campanulatum, polyphyllum, pluriseriale, imbricatum. Squamæ i-ner-
viæ, ecarinatæ, plan*, inæquales, dlssimiles, maturitate reflex*. Squatnæ exteriores obovatæ, v. spathulatæ, v. sublineares,
